Return Engagement for Criminal Law Specialist, Jeffrey Manishen

Jeffrey Manishen, Criminal Law Specialist with Ross & McBride LLP, was a keynote speaker at the 20th Annual Conference of the Ontario Association of Police Educators (OAPE) in September, 2009.
This was a return engagement for Mr. Manishen, having participated as a panelist in the 2008 OAPE Conference, in which his spoke on the legal issues arising from use of force by police. At this conference, Mr. Manishen reviewed recent decisions of the Supreme Court of Canada interpreting the Charter of Rights and Freedoms on issues including; the disclosure of police discipline records, powers of arrest and search, and the exclusion of evidence obtained as a result of Charter infringements.
The audience, which included approximately 60 police officers responsible for the training and education of local police services across Ontario, enjoyed a Q and A session with Mr. Manishen for over an hour and was most appreciative of his presentation.
