The Holidays Are a Time of Giving Back to The Community

For the last few years, Ross & McBride LLP, has sponsored a family in the Hamilton area through The Salvation Army Christmas Program.
Sue Case, Senior Law Clerk for the firms International Legal Services Group, spear heads the in-house program each year and along with her ‘Helper Elves’, they canvass the staff for donations for 2 months leading up to Christmas. “The goal is simple”, says Sue, “to raise money internally so that we can buy gifts, stocking stuffers, and food vouchers for a family who would otherwise do without during the holidays”. This year, the staff raised $1500 and under the guidance of Sue and her ‘Helper Elves’, presents were purchased, wrapped and delivered to The Salvation Army, who then forwarded them on to the family (the family details and specifics are kept anonymous from the sponsors). This year, our ‘Christmas Family’ was a family of 5, consisting of 3 young children, a mother and a father who had recently lost his job.
