The Honourable Eugene Fedak

The Honourable Eugene Fedak joins Ross & McBride LLP after retiring from the Superior Court of Justice in December 2009. He acts as general counsel for the firm and is a member of the firms Alternative Dispute Resolution Group.
 
Mr. Fedak has had a distinguished 46 year career in law and has earned the respect of both the Bench and the Bar.
 
After graduating from McMaster University, Mr. Fedak attended Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Bar in 1963. During the first 23 years of his career, Mr. Fedak was in general practice in the fields of real estate, banking, family, criminal, and motor vehicle accident litigation.
 
During the last 23 years, Mr. Fedak was a Judge for the District Court of Ontario, York Region and quickly thereafter a Senior Judge. He was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice, General Division in 1990, and became the Regional Senior Justice, Central South Region, in 1992. In 1999, he completed his tenure as Regional Senior Justice for the Central South Region of the Superior Court of Justice for Ontario; and in 2001 was appointed Supernumerary Justice of the Superior Court of Justice for Ontario; a position he held until December 2009.
 
In addition, Mr. Fedak was also a member of the Residential Tenancy Commission (1985) and Chairman of the Hamilton-Wentworth Housing Authority (1985).
